Every spring brings with it a restlessness; an itch for change. People tend to make moves, shift focus, and open up to new opportunities this time of year. I see new practices starting, collaborations budding, and the will to start new ventures taking shape. For the studio, this also means seeing old friends move on to new adventures and welcoming new artists to our space. Recently, this has included a large number of people moving to Maine for the first time or returning home sooner than expected. We welcome everyone to our studios–whoever they are, whatever they believe, wherever they come from--with pride and the promise to care for them as best we can.

MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR Every spring brings with it a restlessness; an itch for change. People tend to make moves, shift focus, and open up to new opportunities this time of year. Spring also means cleaning house and looking for hidden gems in our bulging closets, flat files, and long-forgotten corners of the studios to sell and share at this summer's Seconds & Supplies Sale on June 11th that Shop Maine Craft of The Maine Crafts Association puts on in our parking lot. Stay tuned and watch our social media for more information and maybe even a sneak peek of some RWS goods that will be available at the sale. Supporting artists and creative communities and organizations is a vital part of strengthening our understanding of ourselves and our unique place, of finding our collective voice as well as lifting up our own. Please read on for ways to get involved and support your local arts community, and we'll introduce you to some of our new members and share our spring activities. We are also excitedly working on new programming that we cannot wait to share with you! - Kate Anker, Director
