Becca Garibaldi
Ceramicist
My name is Becca and my goal while working with clay is to include organic materials that are naturally foraged from where I live as well as to invite in the other senses such as touch and sight while using my pottery. This could look like adding sand or driftwood from one of Maine's local beaches as well as the impressions of shells collected on the shorelines on the coast.
Most of my artworks exterior is "raw" or "bare", allowing the natural colors of the clay to be more exposed. On the interior I will often include glazes that help enhance the clay's natural color and make it really pop.
Each piece is unique in its own way. With that being said each piece is not exactly the same. This is the beauty and excitement of working with earth & fire. The unpredictability within it all is what makes this style of art so exciting to work with.
You can Find&Seak my artwork within local businesses in Maine as well as visit my studio location.
