Slow seems to be the antithesis of the world we live in. To move, work, or feel slow is a rebellious act nowadays. Everyone wants quick, convenient, easy. Even when we encounter a moment of slow, it is sandwiched between haste. Today’s slow feels rushed. Instead, I want to challenge myself, and you, to imagine a life where we can follow every curiosity. We can observe a snail making its long, persistent trek across the ocean sand, let the bubbly, soft proved dough press between our fingers, or scale rough rocky shorelines in search of the smallest, softest stone. I want us to focus on the grit, those small but strong moments that wear down at the monotony of life and afford us a chance to feel, imagine, create and relate.
