Two Day Clamshell Box Workshop at Running With Scissors Studios Print Shop and Strong Arm Bindery 250 Anderson St, Portland, ME Instructor - Martha Kearsley Saturday & Sunday 10 am - 1 pm each day LEARN; *Creating custom measurements *Simple box making strategies *Adaptable template making *Book cloth and material selection and uses *Complete a unique clamshell box for your specific item Workshop information; *Bring a book you want to make a box enclosure for and a sack lunch. We will also have a list of local locations. MARTHA KEARSLEY Martha is owner and operator of Strong Arm Bindery. In her private practice she specializes in the conservation repair of rare, antiquarian, and well-loved books, and the construction of custom-built boxes and protective enclosures for artists' work and collections. Strong Arm Bindery is a bookbinding and letterpress studio located in the East Bayside Neighborhood of Portland, Maine. We specialize in the design and production of very well-made books and printed matter. We are dedicated to carrying out experiments in stationery, and we do so on our own equipment and with our own hands. Our work is mighty and useful. Workshop price is $255 for non-members and includes a $20 materials fee. Current RWS members receive a 10% discount off the base price plus the materials fee. Cancellation Policy
RWS WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY Cancellations within 15 Days of the Workshop No refunds or transfers will be issued for cancellations made less than 15 days before the workshop, regardless of the reason for non-attendance. Due to limited class sizes, administrative costs involved with managing cancellations or transfers, and the instructor's preparation time we cannot allow cancellations this close to the workshop. Late Arrivals Students arriving more than 15 minutes late will may not be admitted to the workshop. Exceptions may be made at the instructor's discretion. No refunds will be provided for late arrivals. Cancellations 15 Days or More Before the Workshop A full refund less a $50 administration and processing fee will be assessed for cancellations for any reason if made 15 days or more before the Workshop. Cancellation and refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@rwsartstudios.com in the above time frame. Workshop Cancellation by RWS You may transfer to another date for the same workshop (subject to availability). If RWS needs to cancel a workshop we will make every effort to offer an alternative date and if that is not feasible for you, we will offer a full refund including the $50 administrative fee.
