The Clay Center at RWS provides affordable workspace and ceramic equipment access to established and emerging clay artists. Through open air studios, communal workspaces and annual public events we hope to foster a resilient, professional and supportive ceramic community in the urban landscape of Portland, Maine.

All clay members have unlimited 24/7 access to all our clay facilities, common work space/equipment, independent and group kiln firings, as well as discounted access to print shop, wood shop and opportunity to participate in annual and special studio events.

Resident Studio Membership

Nestled in our clay center are a variety of semi-private studios catering to professional, technically proficient artists seeking an individual production space and equipment, kiln and raw materials access. 24/7 Studio access.

Studios --- $200-400/mo

Security Deposit = month's rent

Associate Clay Membership

Associates have additional 24/7 access to shelf storage, tool cubbies, studio glazes and first option for resident spaces that become available while members.

Half Shelf = $150 - 175/mo (3 mo min)

Full Shelf = $200 - 225/mo (3 mo min)
